Know your PPV (positive predictive value). PPV is the likelihood that a positive test result is a true positive (baby has the condition) vs a false positive (baby does *not* have the condition). The PPV of NIPT prenatal screening tests varies widely, depending on factors including the age of the mother and how common the genetic condition is.
