Enhancing Sustainable Trail Experiences in the Methow Valley Help us help trails USFS trail crew clearing logs on Hidden Lakes Trail in the Pasayten Wilderness 2024 Last September the Forest Service announced it would cut its nonfire seasonal workforce in 2025. The decision is in response to an agencywide budget deficit. This means the Methow Valley Ranger DistrictMVRD cannot hire its seasonal trail crew that maintains the 1100mile trail network the district manages. In years past the MVRD trail crew worked tirelessly through the summer months to clear Wilderness and front country trails from logs beating back overgrown brush and addressing the backlog of critical trail infrastructure like bridges or boardwalks.
