More than 80 have served in a combat theater of operations and 43 of veterans have disabilities as a result of their service. A Soldiers Journey Home was born in the aftermath of September 11 2001 as a way for a group of New York firefighters to give back for the support they had received from around the country in the wake of the attacks.
