Leonor Fall graduated from EARTH in 2016 with a strong commitment to addressing the socioeconomic and food security challenges of her home country and continent. Her career path has taken her from organizing high-level meetings at the African Union Special Envoy on Women, Peace, and Security to working with livestock keepers in her home country of Senegal. More than 3,000 banana sector leaders gathered in Guayaquil to imagine the future of a key industry for the world — and EARTH was there. From April 28-30, the 2025 Banana Summit took place in a space full of knowledge and innovation. Urgent challenges such as Fusarium R4T, climate change, and the use of drones and artificial intelligence in agriculture were addressed, as well as social issues such as quality of life in agriculture. In this context, EARTH received special recognition from the organizing committee, highlighting our commitment to preparing leaders who are transforming global food systems. EARTH University President, Arturo Condo, as well as members of the faculty and our graduate network, participated in spaces for dialogue with key industry players, highlighting the University's purpose of empowering leaders who not only understand agriculture but who transform communities.
