Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity, on the Future of Foster Care (Kafala) in Egypt: Egypt is taking bold steps toward family-based alternative care for children. 🔹 The Kafala system is currently a top priority for the Ministry of Social Solidarity, with focused efforts to expand and strengthen it nationwide. 🔹 A new Child Law has been finalized and submitted to the Cabinet. It is expected to be discussed in the upcoming parliamentary session. 🔹 There are currently 431 orphanages across Egypt.
