It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a new Gator 1!!! After many years of faithful service to the agency, our old Gator 1 has been replaced. In fact, our Remote Access Unit has had a complete overhaul in the last month! Car 130 and new Gator 1 will be great assets to the region’s combined response when community members need medical assistance in hard to reach areas. With enhanced safety, better handling, and more tool capacity the new Gator 1 is better than ever. Car 130 is also equipped with a full package of equipment including ropes, rigging equipment, additional remote access tools for patient movement, and a variety of tools to solve any problem the crew runs into. We are very excited to bring these new capabilities to the Charlottesville, Albemarle, and central Virginia region as a whole. With these updates, Gator 1 and Car 130 are able to respond to a wider variety of emergencies and assist our agency partners with these updated resources. Want to get involved?
