The Bristol Volunteer Fire Department was joined by many family, friends and notable guests for our 2024 Recognition Banquet. The Chief's Award was given to Safety Officer 1 - John Bolonda. John was also recognized by Senator Pam Helming and FASNY (Fire Association of the State of NY) representative Dan Sweet for his fifty years of service as a fire fighter in both Manchester Fire Department and Bristol Fire. The President's Award was given to Mark Francese for a lifetime of dedication to BVFD. Additionally, we recognized our top responders for 2024; Phil Sommer, Joe Stoltz, Bob Frost, Ed Thomas, Bill Cotter, Bill Colburn, John Bolonda, David Stoddard and Eric Dey. A CPR Save pin was awarded to Mikayla Bolonda, John Bolonda, Lauren Bolonda, Bill Clark, Bill Colburn, Bill Cotter, Mark Francese, Bob Frost, Bob Green, Amy Harter, Tom Revier, Dan Stewart, Joe Stoltz and Andrew Sykes. On Tuesday, Bristol Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a crash with a victim that was trapped, but was conscious and breathing. The vehicle was over an embankment and had struck some trees. The victim was extricated quickly and taken up the embankment to the Canandaigua Emergency Squad ambulance. Saxby's Collision was also on scene to recover the vehicle. (fb)
