The organization's primary exempt purpose is: To initiate and administer programs exclusively for charitable, educational, scientific and literary purposes within the meaning of IRC Section 501(c)(3), and in furtherance of such purposes but not in limitation thereof: A. to educate the public regarding and/or to encourage: 1. the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual experience of living intimately and indigenously with nature in the Central Connecticut River Valley Bioregion; 2. nature awareness and the restoration and maintenance of a sustainable ecological balance in the Bioregion including, but not limited to, the encouragement and development of organic farming, a locally-based food supply, sustainable forestry, and the use of earth-friendly building construction materials and methods; and 3. traditional and "primitive" life skills including, but not limited to, skills such as hunting, fishing, tracking, living lightly on the earth, the use of wild plants.
