Gulf of America Reef Fish Shareholders' Alliance The largest organization of commercial fishermen in the Gulf Wayne Werner Memorial Scholarship Fund About Wayne Wayne Werner was a giant in the commercial fishing industry by every measure of the word. His knowledge of fishing grounds and his commitment to constantly creating a better more sustainable fishing industry is unparalleled. He started fishing when he was just ten years old and spent his life fiercely advocating for a healthy fishery and for his fellow fishermen. Wayne passed away on March 22 2023 leaving behind a hole in the hearts of the fishermen scientists and fishery regulators that knew him.
