Home Home Discover NATCA National Air Traffic Controllers Association NATCA is a labor union and aviation safety organization in the United States that represents nearly 20000 highly skilled air traffic controllers engineers and other aviation safetyrelated professionals. NATCA was certified in 1987 by the Federal Labor Relations Authority to be the exclusive bargaining representative for air traffic controllers employed by the Federal Aviation Administration. Today NATCA is one of the strongest labor unions in the federal sector and represents a range of aviation safety professionals in 15 FAA bargaining units five Department of Defense air traffic facilities and 123 federal contract towers. These air traffic controllers and other aviation safety professionals make vital contributions to the U.

NATIONAL AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS
To open the final day of Convention business, NATCA President Nick Daniels invited Prospect ATCOs' Branch Chair Mike Reed from the United Kingdom and Canadian Air Traffic Control Association (CATCA) President Nick von Schoenberg on stage to address the Convention Body. Reed and von Schoenberg spoke about the importance of global solidarity, and how through collaborative efforts, we can protect the future of our profession. In his role as CATCA President, Nick von Schoenberg represents approximately 2,000 controllers at three Canadian employers – Transport Canada, Serco, and NAV Canada.

NATIONAL AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS
This week, NATCA President Nick Daniels gave interviews to several aviation reporters from different national media organizations, including National Public Radio (NPR) Transportation Correspondent Joel Rose, Fox Business Correspondent Grady Trimble, Fox News’ Fox & Friends Host Brian Kilmeade, ABC News Transportation Correspondent Sam Sweeney, and CNN Aviation and Transportation Correspondent Pete Muntean to highlight the priorities of our Union members. During these interviews, Daniels answered questions about how communication outages and staffing issues at Philadelphia TRACON (PHL) Area C have affected NATCA members and led to flight delays at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). Daniels also expressed support for Transportation Secretary Duffy’s initiative to “supercharge” controller hiring and his comprehensive plan to fund and prioritize the replacement and repair of air traffic control facilities and modernize outdated technology.
