Imagine having a home and family but then one day, your person loads you up in the car with your crate. You think you’re just tagging along for some quality time with your human so you’re excited, thinking this is great! Suddenly, the car stops and pulls over on the side of the road. Your human tells you to get out of the vehicle. They take your crate out as well and sit it in the grass. You don’t quite understand what’s happening. Before you can grasp the heartbreaking reality of the moment and try to jump back in the vehicle, your human drives away, leaving you and your only reminder of home behind. A few minutes later, a nice lady out running errands sees you all alone on the side of the road. She thinks maybe you are just lost and wonders if she should just let you find your way back home. Then she sees your crate. She realizes what has just happened to you and knows she has to help. She isn’t really a “dog person” but she calls her friend who is a foster mom. The friend immediately says, “Bring me that baby.” So the nice lady loads you up in her car and she doesn’t even get mad that you are all dirty and smelly. She drops you off with her foster mom friend who immediately gives you a nice bath and then lets you meet all of the other dogs she takes care of. You realize that you are very lucky to have crossed paths with that nice woman who took time out of her day to help a little abandoned dog find a safe place to land. This is how sweet Sandy the Beagle made her way to us. We know that’s her actual name because she has a microchip. The person the chip is registered to has not returned any of our calls which is not a surprise. As heartbreaking and upsetting as all of this is, we know Sandy is safe and better off now. She is ready to find a loving new family and never experience being discarded again. Sandy is about six years old and she weighs 27 pounds. She gets along beautifully with other dogs of all sizes. She is a true nose-to-the-ground adventure-seeking girl who loves to explore outdoors. We would love for her to have a fenced yard but she is great on a leash also. Sandy loves to be brushed and pampered. She has a gentle, submissive nature and will flop over on her back for belly rubs when you meet her. Buffy is going to be the best little companion for some lucky person. This doll baby is about ten months old and she weighs nine pounds. We think she is a Maltese mix. Her hair is cut short right now due to matting but her natural coat is long and fluffy. Buffy is almost full grown but she is very much a playful puppy at heart. She is mischievous and will chew on things if she gets the opportunity. She needs plenty of her own appropriate toys to keep her mind and mouth occupied.
