Crimson Collective

The Crimson Collective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in the Salt Lake City Valley. It was founded by a group of passionate Utah alumni, boosters, and former athletes with a mission to support local charities and promote opportunities for University of Utah student-athletes.

Purpose and Mission

The organization is dedicated to helping college athletes thrive while supporting the local community. It works by contracting for Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights from University of Utah student-athletes, who then promote local charities through various platforms. This strategic approach creates a mutually beneficial relationship where athletes benefit from NIL deals, and local charities gain increased visibility and support.

Governance

The Crimson Collective is governed by a board of notable individuals, including Nicole Mouskondis, Eldin Diglisic, Charlie Monfort, Eric Weddle, Heather Kahlert, Alex Smith, and Matt Garff. These board members are committed to the organization's mission and contribute their expertise to ensure its success.

Financials

As of the latest available data, the majority of the Crimson Collective's revenue comes from contributions, totaling 99.7% of its income. It reported total assets of $2,645,881 and total liabilities of $15,880. Key employees include Kyle Brennan as CEO, with a compensation of $76,549, while other board members do not receive compensation for their roles[1].

Partnership with Blueprint Sports

In January 2024, the Crimson Collective announced a strategic partnership with Blueprint Sports, a leading provider of full-service NIL collectives. This partnership aims to enhance the collective's resources and infrastructure, allowing it to better support Utah student-athletes and engage with the community through new fan membership programs and corporate sponsorship opportunities[3].

Activities and Impact

The organization supports various local charities by leveraging the influence of University of Utah student-athletes to promote these charities through social media and in-person appearances. This model provides a unique platform for both community engagement and athlete empowerment.

Donations and Tax Deductibility

Donations to the Crimson Collective are tax-deductible, offering supporters a charitable contribution opportunity while supporting student-athletes and local community causes[2][5].
