The 27th Annual Twin Cities Jazz Festival is presented by AARP Minnesota, and we are so grateful to be Legacy Fund beneficiaries. At a time when funding is under critical pressure in the arts, and our organization feeling the weight, we are glad to be in MN! ✨️The Legacy Amendment is a constitutional amendment adopted by Minnesota voters in November 2008. It raised the state sales tax by 3/8 of 1% for a period of 25 years and dedicated the earned revenue to clean water, parks, outdoor habitat, and arts and cultural heritage. A website was created by the Minnesota Legislature to help citizens monitor how funds from the Legacy Amendment are being used. On the Minnesota Legacy website, you can see how funds are being invested across the state. As a Legacy fund beneficiary from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund this biennium, the Twin Cities Jazz Festival (TCJF) has been able to engage with even more audiences, artists and partners to hold up our mission of bringing communities together to enjoy and appreciate the art form of jazz and inspire new generations of youth.
