We’re proud to announce that Woody Platt is the recipient of the 2025 North Carolina Award for Fine Art. A Grammy-winning musician from Brevard, NC, Platt is a founding member of the Steep Canyon Rangers and a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. His work has earned multiple Grammy nominations, IBMA awards, and a place in the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.

MUSEUM OF THE CAPE FEAR HISTORICAL
Join us at President President James K. Polk State Historic Site on October 14th at 10am-2pm for a special look into how the growth of apples and pumpkins played a vital role in the early development of North Carolina. Attendants can learn recipes passed down from generations, including apple fritters, apple pupton, and pumpkin pie.
