As we head into the summer months, the Blue Star Museums program is now underway. From now through Labor Day, the Edison Birthplace Museum offers free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families as part of the national Blue Star Museums program, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. We’re honored to welcome those who serve, so stop by and discover the story of Thomas Edison’s beginnings in Milan, Ohio.

On Memorial Day, we pause to remember those who gave everything in service to our country. Among the many tributes to American sacrifice, one of the most unexpected comes from Thomas Edison himself. In 1918, Edison recorded a short but powerful speech honoring the soldiers of World War I, including his own son and the many Allied forces who stood alongside America.
