Drivers at Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) in Goldsboro, N.C., have voted to join Teamsters Local 391 as contract negotiations resume for 2,000 Teamsters at the company. DFA drivers overcame a disgusting anti-union campaign that saw DFA send management to the Goldsboro facility for two weeks ahead of the election, distributing corporate propaganda to try to deny workers better wages and working conditions. “By joining the powerful Teamsters, we have the best shot to secure the benefits, wages, and workplace protections we deserve,” said Bryan Cavanagh, a 42-year driver at DFA. “We didn’t fall for DFA’s tricks. Albertsons drivers in Dallas, represented by Teamsters Local 745, are hitting the streets to inform the public about the company’s disturbing attempt to include contract language that would open the door to dangerous, unregulated autonomous semi-trucks. As part of their contract fight, workers are handbilling to expose the $13 billion grocery giant’s unacceptable attempt to sneak this language into their agreement. Teamsters at Albertsons are prepared to strike if the company refuses to offer a fair contract.
