Our Junior Kindergarten students proudly became published authors through the creation of "Adventures in Junior Kindergarten," a collaborative class book that highlights both their academic growth and joyful experiences throughout the year. Inspired by their studies of children’s authors and foundational literacy lessons, students selected two favorite memories—ranging from nature exploration to early math and reading discoveries—and crafted their own stories. They worked through the writing process to produce thoughtful and expressive pages, complete with original illustrations. The project culminated in a joyful author celebration with families, where students read their work aloud and shared reflections on their writing journey. Last week, Grade 7 students proudly presented their Exploration in Advocacy projects—culminating a unit in English centered on social justice, prejudice and the power of individual action. Each student identified a cause that mattered to them, researched existing efforts and chose a path forward—raising awareness, proposing new initiatives or designing original campaigns. The results were both powerful and deeply personal, ranging from environmental advocacy to mental health support. Students presented to classmates, families and community members, sharing not only their findings, but their hope for a better future.
