It’s time for a check-in. Let’s talk about T.E.M.P.S., the different types of abuse that can show up in relationships: T – Technological: Are your devices being monitored? Are you pressured to share passwords or location? E – Emotional/Mental/Verbal: Are you being put down, manipulated, gaslit, or constantly criticized? M – Money/Financial: Does your partner control your money, keep you from working, or make you ask for basic needs? P – Physical: Have they ever hurt you, threatened you, or made you feel unsafe physically? S – Sexual: Are your boundaries respected? Or are you being pressured, coerced, or touched without consent? ❤️ Healthy relationships are based on trust, respect, safety and freedom — not control, fear, or guilt. If something doesn’t feel right, you’re not alone, and it’s okay to reach out and contact your local domestic violence hotline (in Philly, it’s 1-866-723-3014). Everyone deserves love that feels safe. [Image description: A Prevention Friday image by Women Against Abuse, featuring a thermometer and the following text: Is your relationship abusive? Check the T.E.M.P.S.! T - TECHNOLOGICAL ABUSE, E - EMOTIONAL/MENTAL/VERBAL ABUSE, M - MONEY/FINANCIAL ABUSE, P - PHYSICAL ABUSE, and S - SEXUAL ABUSE] #PreventionFriday #HealthyRelationships #DatingViolence #DomesticViolencePrevention (fb)
