Journey Bags, LLC, is a U.S. nonprofit organization established to support cancer patients as they begin their treatments. The organization's mission is centered around providing resources, encouragement, and practical items to ease the challenges faced by patients during this critical period.

Founding and Mission

The founding of Journey Bags was inspired by Jennifer Riley's personal experience battling stage 3b ductal carcinoma breast cancer. During her treatment, Jennifer faced difficulties accessing essential items in her rural community, which motivated her to form a group dedicated to helping others navigate their cancer journeys. The organization's mission includes sharing love, encouragement, and resources with those newly diagnosed with cancer, aiming to make their transition into treatment more manageable.

Activities and Services

Journey Bags provides patients with specially prepared bags containing items that are often needed during cancer treatment. These include practical items such as beanie/cap, peppermints, tea bags, queezy drops, devotional book, water bottle, journal and pen, gripper socks, playing cards, lip balm, silk pillowcase, lotion, and blanket. Additionally, bags for women and children are tailored to include age-appropriate items like coloring books, colored pencils, and various toys for younger recipients.

Resource Directory

A key component of Journey Bags' mission is the provision of a comprehensive directory of resources. This directory consists of links and contact information for places where patients can find essential items such as wigs, port shirts, and cold therapy gloves—items that are often unfamiliar to those beginning their cancer treatment journey.
