During Foster Care Month, we wear blue to shine a light on the important role that people from all parts of child welfare play in supporting children, youth, and families. For over four decades, the Support Center for Child Advocates has been dedicated to securing a permanent, nurturing environment for every child in our care. We advocate for their well-being, health, education, and access to justice, working with foster families and public systems to ensure children thrive. ✨Lights, Camera, Advocacy !✨ We were back in the studio this week filming the pre-recorded sections of our Kids at Court Conference: Access and Inclusion for Youth with Disabilities. Building on the momentum of our 2024 Kids at Court Conference: Trauma-Sensitive Strategies for Attorneys series, our new training initiative continues our commitment to creating trauma-responsive, inclusive legal spaces for children. It was a true team effort. In addition to the expertise of our staff and board member, Brenda Harkavy, Esq (Attorney at Laffey Bucci D’Andrea Reich & Ryan) we’re so honored to collaborate with Institute on Disabilities at Temple University, College of Education, ASERT Autism Resources (Autism Services, Education, Resources and Training), and experts with lived experience who generously shared their insight to shape this training.
