The Hartman Rock Garden was created by Harry "Ben" Hartman from 1932 through 1944. This remarkable garden includes over 250,000 individual stones that combine a mixture of history, religion, and depression-era pop culture.

Hartman Rock Garden | A Visionary Art Environment in Springfield Ohio ATTEND TCHOTCHKE PALOOZA Tchotchke Palooza is the one time each year that we fill the garden with Ben Hartmans famous figurines including boxer Joe Louis actress Mae West and characters like Felix the Cat Pinocchio and the Lone Ranger. This event is held annually on the last Saturday in July. BECOME A VOLUNTEER We rely on dedicated people like you to keep our visionary art environment looking amazing. We organize three big volunteers events each year the Spring Cleanup in early May the Spring Planting in mid May and the Fall Cleanup in early October as well as smaller gardening days throughout the summer.
