After an incredible 23 years of dedicated service to the Florida Peanut Producers and the entire industry, Ken has retired. He is eagerly anticipating spending quality time with his family on the farm. While we are experiencing changes at FPPA, our core mission remains steadfast: to support Florida Peanut Farmers through diligent research, comprehensive education, and effective promotion. Here's an update from the Florida Peanut Farmers. They have made good progress with planting, reaching 73% of the total acres. Drier conditions have recently prevailed across much of the state, with soil moisture levels currently at around 10% (very short). Thankfully, the forecast indicates promising showers towards the end of the week, which will be beneficial. Peanuts planted in late April are now beginning to flower. A friendly reminder that our farmers are actively working in the fields, often moving large equipment on public roads. Please exercise caution, slow down, and give them the space they need to travel safely. Their dedication ensures we all have food on our tables. (fb)
