Step by step, they bring healthcare where it's needed most. Zahir, a UNICEF-supported community health worker, assesses 4-year-old Zuhul for malnutrition at his home in Uruzgan Province, #Afghanistan. In this remote community often cut off for months during winter Zahir provides health education, malnutrition screening, basic care and referrals to his neighbours. More than 30,000 community health workers in Afghanistan are supported by UNICEF, each serving in the communities they call home.
