Yesterday, we wrapped the first-ever Rocky Mountain SAR UAS Conference - and it was a huge success! We were honored to host Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office Arapahoe Rescue Patrol, Inc. Boulder Emergency Squad Castle Rock Police Department Center of Excellence for Advanced Technology Aerial Firefighting Colorado Parks and Wildlife Custer County SAR Douglas County - Government El Paso County Search and Rescue Elizabeth Police Department Colorado La Plata County Search and Rescue Larimer County Search and Rescue, Inc. Larimer County Sheriff's Office Mesa County Search & Rescue Rampart Search and Rescue Vail Mountain Rescue Group Alamosa Volunteer Search And Rescue Las Animas County Sheriff's Department Delta County Search and Rescue Douglas County Sheriff's Office Park County Search and Rescue South Metro Fire Rescue COEmergency Chaffee County Search and Rescue - South for a full day of learning, collaboration, and real-world drone applications. This community of drone professionals came together to share best practices, mission stories, and explore the latest in life-saving UAS technology. Huge thanks to Colorado Parks and Wildlife for helping spark and support this effort, and to the Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Training Facility for generously hosting us. After eight months of rigorous training, ten incredible individuals have officially earned their place as fielded members of Douglas County Search and Rescue Team and with it, the honor of wearing the coveted yellow shirt. The yellow shirt isn’t just a uniform. It’s a symbol of readiness, skill, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. The class of 2025 rose to the challenge, pushing through countless scenarios, long hours & non-stop training to become mission ready.
