Welcome to the Buchanan County Historical Society of Virginia Our regular meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month. Our Mission The Buchanan County Historical Society of Virginia was established for the purpose of preserving and promoting Buchanan Countys rich heritage especially our early history folklore culture music and crafts. Since its inception it has acted as a nonprofit organization. The BCHS of Virginia is a major asset to the county area Southwest Virginia the state of Virginia and the nation.
