Monday night at Carnegie Hall the Oratorio Society of New York joyously wrapped up their 2024/2025 season with the world premiere of “All Shall Rise,” with composer Paul Moravec, librettist Mark Campbell, and the soloists Susanna Phillips, Lucia Bradford, Charles Williamson, and Steven Eddy (photo by Brian Hatton). Also on the program was a very satisfying and rare performance of Mendelssohn’s choral symphony LOBGESANG - the fifth-ever performance of the work at Carnegie Hall! “In the hallowed acoustic splendor of Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium, the Oratorio Society of New York, under the masterful direction of Kent Tritle, presented a splendid concert of profound musical and spiritual significance that left one feeling intellectually enriched and emotionally transformed. … From beginning to end, this was an inspirational concert of rare distinction… ” Opening Night Reviews, Edward A.
