📣 Your voice is needed – and now’s the time to speak up. As you may know, the primary way through which cities and counties across California fund efforts to reduce homelessness is through a program called HHAP (Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention). HHAP currently funds local housing, shelter, and prevention programs, among other lifesaving measures. Many LAFH programs rely directly on HHAP funding. Unfortunately, the Governor has proposed to eliminate funding for this important program in his FY 25-26 Budget, as well as the State Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and the Multifamily Housing Program. We have champions within the State Legislature who are working hard to preserve these critical funding sources – but they can't do it without our support. 🙌🏽 Here’s how YOU can help (and it only takes a minute): ✉️ Email the Governor: leg.unit@gov.ca.gov 🔎 Find your local State Rep: https://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov 📣 Send them a message telling them that funding for homeless services and affordable housing is not optional — it is essential.
