Become an SCLA member today and support our nationally recognized Will Power After-School program! Will Power After-School is our youth development, enrichment, and employment initiative that serves students ages 14-24 at Title 1 LAUSD schools. Participants are hired as full-time, paid employees to study, create, produce, and perform their own adaptations of Shakespeare’s plays. The program develops empathy and workforce skills; builds academic resilience and literacy skills; enhances interpersonal communication; and nurtures an appreciation for creative, artistic expression. Will Power After-School teaches young people not just that they are valued as emerging artists, but also that they are valued members of our society with powerful, necessary voices.
