That model doesnt work and we need to move forward. Historic preservation needs to be every bit as much about the future as it is about the past. We save buildings and places not for the structures themselves but for their importance to us.

Rethos Executive Director Heidi Swank is featured on “The Women Who Saved History,” a monthly podcast that tells the stories of the many women who have dedicated their lives to preserving the history of the Silver State. From an early interest in history to a career as a linguistic anthropologist, Heidi’s path led to founding the Nevada Preservation Foundation, whose projects included the Vintage Vegas Home Tour that became the Home + History Las Vegas weekend.
