Introducing ~Nois’ newest member - Natalia Warthen The wait is OVER, and we’re finally ready to gush all about ~Nois’ newest member. Natalia is a national and international award winning saxophonist, an unbelievable chamber music player, and a new music advocate. She’s also a delight to be around with such an effervescent, gracious, and genuine personality. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome her onto the team. Originally a native of Newnan, Georgia, Natalia is a champion for new music-making, and has commissioned and premiered over thirty new works for saxophone with chamber ensembles. Her degrees come from Northwestern University and Michigan State University and in addition to her saxophone background has Minors in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, AND in Arts and Cultural Management (okay flex). Likes: Dip n Dots, broccoli, Beyoncé, Coca Cola (instead of coffee!), friends who have dogs, wearing a purse instead of a backpack, beating ~Nois at Catan regularly, water parks. POV: You’re sitting in a lecture hall learning about all the reasons you should come to ~Nois’ DISCOVERY show on April 22nd. It’s a well rehearsed presentation. The communication of details is clear and thorough. These guys are kind of funny. The use of “um” and “you know” is minimal. You’re impressed. As the talk drags on, you’re shocked that these three guys stretched a single concert invitation into a 70 minute lecture. You’re getting hungry for lunch. You will probably end up going to Discovery, though. 10/10 - effective talk. DISCOVERY - April 22nd. 7:30pm. Brennan Recital Hall at DePaul University.
