Everyone.... Soarin' Hawk will not be going up to the roof to put Fern back in the box. She is now old enough that she can hop back up there if she chooses to. Approaching her now could cause her harm as she might try to flee and with her developed feathering, could hop to the edge of the roof and she is not ready yet to fledge, This is why they are banded before they start to get their primary feathers because without those, they can hop a bit but won't attempt to fly. In 2022, we did have to place Nova back in the box because she wasn't big enough to get back into the box herself as her primaries were just starting to come out. #indianamichiganpower (fb)

Indiana Michigan now has the cam pointed at Fern, but you can't see her as she went under another piece, of the nest box base? This reminds me of the 2022 season with Nova. She tumbled out and as she grew older she was very feisty compared to her sister, Kiri.
