Description

Lincoln City Cultural Center

The Lincoln City Cultural Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Lincoln City, Oregon. It was originally established as the Lincoln City Arts Forum on August 10, 1992. Over time, it evolved into the Coastal Communities Cultural Center (the 4C's), receiving its Articles of Incorporation on December 20, 1996. The organization officially gained nonprofit status on October 14, 1997[1].

History and Development

In April 1998, the center established its first bylaws, which were later revised in 2003. By September 2006, the 4C's had leased the historic DeLake School from the city of Lincoln City. In February 2007, it adopted the name Lincoln City Cultural Center. DeLake School, built in 1929, had a long history as an educational site for the children of Lincoln City, and the cultural center continues this tradition by offering classes and activities for all ages[1].

Programs and Activities

The Lincoln City Cultural Center serves as a vibrant community hub, offering an array of artistic experiences, including:

  • Classes: The center provides classes in art, dance, music, literature, and theater, catering to people of all ages and skill levels[3][4].
  • Gallery Exhibits: It features gallery spaces showcasing various art exhibitions[3][4].
  • Performances: The center hosts live performances and concerts throughout the year[3][4].
  • Community Events: It organizes events like the annual Tree Lighting Party, which includes activities such as family ornament workshops, live music, and visits from Santa Claus[5].

Support and Membership

The center relies heavily on donations and memberships to support its mission. Members receive benefits such as event discounts, access to member-only events, and the satisfaction of contributing to community arts programs. Additionally, the center participates in programs like the Fred Meyer Community Rewards, allowing shoppers to support the organization through their purchases[2][3].

Mission and Impact

The Lincoln City Cultural Center aims to cultivate meaningful connections within the community by supporting artists, promoting arts education, and fostering cultural engagement. Its diverse offerings are designed to be accessible to people from all walks of life, making art an integral part of community life in Lincoln City[3][4].
