BREAKING: SB1723 has passed both houses of the Illinois General Assembly! This bill protects residents in multiple communities across 14 counties from dangerous, unreliable carbon sequestration activity. It stops 3 proposed projects in the footprint of the Mahomet Aquifer and lays the groundwork for continued efforts to protect residents in McLean county where the excluded recharge areas are located. Every action we take strengthens our access to clean drinking water and we would not be here without the incredible efforts of IPA leaders, staff, and our allies all over the state! (fb)
