Juneteenth conmemora el día en 1865 cuando las últimas personas esclavizadas en Galveston, Texas supieron que eran libres — más de dos años después de la emancipación. Es un recordatorio de que la libertad nunca ha sido fácil para las comunidades negras y que la lucha por la justicia verdadera continúa. En ACIJ honramos Juneteenth con solidaridad y reconociendo que la justicia migrante y la justicia racial están profundamente conectadas.
