Welcome to Mattawan Public Education Foundation The mission of the Mattawan Public Education Foundation is to strengthen the community through funding unique educational opportunities. State funding for public schools in Michigan continues to be a challenge for all districts. Mattawan is a highly successful school district however Mattawan has consistently ranked in the bottom ten percent with regard to funding with the majority of local schools receiving much more funding on a perstudent basis. There is a significant gap between what it costs to educate students annually and the funding Mattawan receives from the state.
