The Literacy Connection, a Sponsored Ministry of the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, provides English literacy training and citizenship preparation classes, free of charge, to low-income adult immigrants and refugees so they may become economically self-sufficient and active, responsible members of their families and community. It is a community-based organization, responding to expressed community needs in a welcoming and inclusive environment. In the words of Sr. Patricia Andrews, CSJ, Director of The Literacy Connection, "Our work, mission and ministry is about reaching out to others and meeting the needs of the times. We have a long history of working with the immigrant community in Boston . . ."
