Our Advocacy & Policy Manager, Amy Morales, joined partners, teachers, and school board member @luisasantosd9 @floridastudentpower@youthactionfund @prism@ps305@luisasantosd9 yesterday outside the Miami School Board office to launch the No on One campaign! Amy highlighted that if Amendment 1 passes, 3.8 million non-party-affiliated voters will be excluded from school board elections and the dangers with disenfranchising an entire group of voters in races already targeted by the Republican-led legislature to push their anti-woke agenda. Non-party-affiliated voters represent a diverse coalition of perspectives, and they deserve a say in who leads their school districts. Our students and teachers deserve classrooms free from partisan agendas! We’ve already seen right-wing extremism take hold in Florida school boards-let’s take this as a warning for what will happen statewide if amendment 1 passes. (fb)
