Sue missed having a feathered companion and reached out. She happens to be enamored by the disabled and often looked over senior birds. Well then, Blue! He’s a senior, naked, and adorable ☺️ Blue is a great little guy. He’s super gentle and very sweet 💙. He’s not young but still very chipper. He loves to work for treats and hang out listening to music. This pair is going to have a ton of fun together! 🚨 Emergency🚨 Rescue: 16 Parrots Find Safety After Tragedy! Yesterday, Rhode Island Parrot Rescue and Foster Parrots Ltd. and The New England Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary responded to an urgent call in New Hampshire. We drove up to help a 🦜🦜*flock of 16 parrots*🦜🦜 left behind after the unexpected passing of their caregiver, Kathy Pierce. From what we've gathered, Kathy was loved in her community and well known for taking in birds who had nowhere else to go. Her friends state Kathy had a heart for rescue—💞 But, in the wake of her passing, the birds were found in **extremely unsanitary and unsafe conditions, likely due to the overwhelming challenges she faced behind the scenes. ⚠️Upon arrival, our teams sprang into action. We performed disease testing, initial physical exams, nail and beak trims, and safely placed all 16 birds into carriers for transport using an SUV and FP newly donated transit van. 💟Each one of them is now safe and beginning their journey toward healing. While we honor Kathy’s compassionate legacy, it also highlights the dire need for planning ahead for your flock -- the need for support in the rescue community—and the power of stepping up when it matters most.
