Freedom House Ministries, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Christian-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing homeless shelter services exclusively to families with dependent children. The organization is headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Mission

The mission of Freedom House Ministries is to equip families with the skills and resources needed to become self-sufficient and maintain independence. This is achieved through comprehensive support services, including emergency shelter, food, clothing, hygiene supplies, employment coaching, and housing navigation.

History

Freedom House Ministries was founded in 1992 by a group of concerned Christians who identified a gap in services for homeless families with children. Initially, the organization operated from a donated four-bedroom house in downtown Green Bay, serving four families simultaneously. Over the years, it has expanded its operations. In 2003, the organization moved to a new location at St. Anthony Drive, where it could accommodate up to 12 families or 50 people. By 2014, Freedom House expanded further to the west side of Green Bay with a campus known as The Bridge, which offers subsidized apartments to nine families. In 2020, a new 16-room shelter was completed at the St. Anthony Drive location, enhancing the organization’s capacity to serve families in need.

Programs and Services

• Emergency Shelter: Families are provided with private rooms and bathrooms, ensuring dignity and privacy.
• Basic Needs Provision: Three meals per day, household items, clothing, and hygiene supplies are offered to support families.
• Case Management and Coaching: Residents receive support tailored to their specific needs, including workforce coaching and housing navigation.
• The Bridge: A transitional living program offering subsidized housing to families who have completed their stay at Freedom House.
• Aftercare Program: Provides ongoing support and access to donations to prevent future shelter stays.

Core Values
