Last night 5/27/2025 at approximately 5:24pm MVFC was dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Collision at Whites Neck Rd and Atlantic Ave. Rescue 84 along with Ambulances A84 and D84 responded to find a two vehicle incident with minor injuries. Fire police were on hand as always to keep the scene safe and direct traffic away from the incident. (fb)

Last night 5/27/2025 MVFC held a Vehicle Extraction exercise led by the folks at ESI Equipment, Inc. Arranged by Captain Hess, the training was focused on the use and capabilities of the new battery powered Holmatro Pentheon Spreader, and Pentheon O-Cutter tools from Holmatro - Rescue Tools and Extrication Equipment. We were able to purchase these tools with a grant from the Town of Millville, Delaware millville.delaware.gov. These are impressively powerful tools that give us greater and faster extrication capabilities. The spreader has nearly 118,000 pounds of spreading force, and the O-Cutter has nearly 397,000 pounds of cutting force! The battery powered tools get us to the vehicle much quicker than setting up the hydraulic tools, allowing for faster extractions. Special thank you to the Town of Millville for the grant allowing us to acquire these tools. And thank you to the folks at ESI Equipment for the training.
