School librarian Jenny Moss at Olson Park Elementary received a literacy grant from Meg and Rob Hodge to purchase books to enhance the digital citizen unit in the library. The books will be used building-wide for years to come. By reading and discussing these books, students learn how online behavior affects their social emotional wellbeing, as well as what behaviors are safe or appropriate online. They are learning to use better judgement to be safe in their interactions. Bravo! #goldenappleofrockford #teachers #grants (fb)

Welcome To Golden Apple Foundation Golden Apple Foundation recognizes teachers and empowers them with classroom resources to improve educational outcomes in our community. The Foundation operates entirely on the generous financial support of community businesses and individuals as well as the more than 400 volunteers who donate their time and energy to make our programs successful. Our Programs Since 1997 Golden Apple Foundation of Rockford has been inspiring celebrating and supporting educational excellence in public and private schools in Winnebago and Boone counties through our core programs awards and recognition grants scholarships the Teacher Academy and community engagement. Golden Apple Teacher Awards The Golden Apple Award process begins with the individual recognition of teachers at the beginning of each school year through Apple for the Teacher Day.
