A remarkable talent and kind gesture 💐 For more than a decade, Parkinson’s disease restricted Denise’s ability to do what she loves. The floral artist and York resident was previously rooted in creating beauty with each stem and bloom. Denise’s expert team at WellSpan, including neurologist Dr. Anthony May and neurosurgeon Dr. Joel Winer, matched her with a deep brain stimulation treatment that enabled her to return to her passion. The implanted device sends electrical signals to the brain to help address her symptoms. Last week, Denise visited WellSpan Neurosurgery in York to thank her team – with handmade floral arrangements in tow – an artistry she has been able to return to since her surgery. (fb)

Bringing together more than 380 local nursing professionals, the 19th Annual WellSpan Health Collaborative Evidence-Based Practice and Nursing Research conference, “Nurses as Innovators: Integrating the Past, Present and Future of Nursing” was held in Camp Hill last week. WellSpan is honored to host this event with local academic organizations, Millersville University, Messiah University and York College of Pennsylvania, as well as Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
