American Forensic Association a nonprofit organization promoting excellence in argumentation oral expression and public advocacy About Us The activities of the American Forensic Association are carried out in an annual meeting in November of each year and through a committee structure. The AFA charters the governing committees of the National Debate Tournament and the National Speech Tournament two of the nations premier competitive collegiate debate and speech tournaments. These activities are called forensic events from Aristotles classification of speech genres.
