Seton Hall University

Seton Hall University is a private Catholic research university located in South Orange, New Jersey, United States. Founded in 1856 by then-Bishop James Roosevelt Bayley, it is named after his aunt, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. Seton Hall is the oldest diocesan university in the United States.

History

Seton Hall University began as Seton Hall College in 1856 and was officially renamed Seton Hall University in 1950.
