Today, we worked with KBTX to highlight some of the wonderful features offered at St. Joseph Health College Station Hospital's Brazos Valley Pavilion for Women. In addition to prepared childbirth, newborn care, and breastfeeding classes that are free and open to all parents-to-be (even those not planning to deliver at our facility), we have an OB Nurse Navigator program staffed by two Labor and Delivery nurses. These navigators provide one-on-one appointments with expectant parents, free of charge. At these appointments, parents can ask questions, and the navigator goes over required paperwork and what to expect once in the hospital. Our compassionate and experienced L&D nurses do a fabulous job with moms who desire a low-intervention birth, fully cooperating and assisting with their wishes. We also have wonderful lactation consultants to help moms and babies get a positive start on breastfeeding. Most importantly, we have experienced OB/GYN in house, 24/7 for emergencies, those with no prenatal care, and to cover for doctors when they are out. These are just a few features that make our facility truly one-of-a-kind and patient-centered.
