Last week marked the inaugural celebration of Sojourner Truth Day, as residents gathered to honor the one-year anniversary of the Legacy Sojourner Truth Plaza at the United Way of Summit and Medina in downtown Akron. Thanks to the Sojourner Truth Education Committee, Akron200 and the United Way for coordinating the gathering. We’re a proud sponsor of the project, joining several organizations and people in honoring Sojourner Truth’s legacy and impact. (fb)
Tickets are still available for the Gay Community Endowment Fund’s annual "exhALE: Advancing Lived Equality!" celebration, which takes place Friday, June 6, at 6 p.m. at the Akron Civic Theatre. The event will recognize grant and scholarship recipients, along with honoring the Akron Pride Festival Steering Committee with the 2025 Paul Daum Award.
