THE COUNTDOWN. The annual Augustoberfest weekend is run by the nonprofit organization The Augustoberfest Charitable Foundation. The festival pays tribute to the areas rich German heritage while raising scholarship money for students in the Hagerstown Wesel Sister City foreign exchange program along with raising foundational endowments for additional nonprofits within Washington County. The Foundations board is comprised of active business leaders from the local community all on a volunteer basis.
