Queens of the Castro Queens of the Castro It all started when. A high school math teacher and advisor to the Gender and Sexuality Alliance organized the first drag show at Mission High School with a courageous group of high schoolers. From there a group of drag queens began to help with the drag show and we decided to become a 501c3 in order to raise money for scholarships for LGBTQ youth.
