Menu Our Mission The Alleghany Educational Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit corporation that secures and distributes financial resources primarily to provide scholarships to enable students in the Alleghany County Schools to pursue postsecondary educational opportunities and to enhance educational programs of the Alleghany County Schools. Who We Are In 1985 seven local volunteers under the aegis of the Alleghany Chamber of Commerce Community Development Committee explored the possibilities of encouraging local youth to pursue education beyond the high school level. Armed with fivethousanddollar seed money provided by First Citizens Bank the Alleghany Educational Foundation Inc.
