Laurie Grant-Stredler, niece of past GSCCC CEO and trailblazer Nellie Hayse who died on December 14, 2024, along with GSCCC CEO Tracy Keller, were presented the Memorial Resolution honoring Nellie that was introduced in the House of Delegates by Delegate Tata during the 2025 legislative session. The presentation took place in the delegate's Virginia Beach district office. Many thanks to Delegate Delegate Anne Ferrell Tata, a Girl Scout alum and strong supporter of Girl Scouting for honoring this trailblazer and her legacy.

Congratulations to Gold Award Girl Scout Justina from Chesapeake who received the Scout of the Year recognition from VFW Post 2894. A ceremony was held in the Chesapeake City Council chambers on May 29. Girl Scout alum and Senior Vice Commander of VFW Post 2894 Susan Vitale, also a former Chesapeake City Council member, was there to congratulate Justina.
